The 80/20 Rule

What are the odds?

Turn on the radio, read a magazine, buy a book, or watch TV, and your problems will be solved. So-called new discovery reinforces the benefits of the latest fad, scientific discovery or exotic product from a far off land. I was easy to sell as many ads seemed to fit my set of problems. The result was more than 100 varieties of self help products. Vitamins, minerals, super foods, and herbal supplements. Did they help?  Maybe some did, eventually I discontinued all of them.

Some win, but most lose

Advertising is created on the 80/20 rule. If you can convince 100 individuals to try a health product perhaps 20 will get good results, then the result benefit will slowly diminish for the other 80. The happy 20 will continue, perhaps for life to consume that product. The advertising succeeds.

Buyer beware

Nature does not manufacture drugs or supplements, and though it’s true, you may need man made products to activate your inner healer. If you feel you must try a prescription, remedy, or any input to your system be wary. They all offer possibilities but may create more damage than benefit. Long term ingestion of any man made product is dependence.

Dependent or independent, you decide.
