Relationships

The Fabric of Life

The ability to create and maintain relationships is an important treasure in everyone’s life. Relationships fit us into the family, group, country, and finally the world. Relationships have a profound effect on health in both mental and physical issues as they complete the fabric of life.

Mom & Dad

Our first relationship with our mother and father is not of our choosing, at least as far as we know. From them we learn guidelines for conducting life from their perspective. We begin to understand limits and learn the advantage to do as we are told. As we grow older and develop our personalities we may rebel against the values of our parents and begin to establish new relationships.

Love

The strongest impulse for a relationship it the desire for mental and physical love and nothing equals the power of love in a relationship. It is the most powerful reason for relationship and it has the most emotional effects in the event of split. Emotional wounds of this sort can last a lifetime.

The Group

We build relationships with family, opposite and same sex people, relatives, jobs, civic duty, friendship and fulfillment in life. Why? Humans are part of a group and we need each other. The underlying purpose of a relationship is the hope of benefit. Tips for maintaining successful relationships:

  • Compassion

The final and most important relationship you have is the one with yourself.
